A trip to Ireland, Scotland, and England.
A few short weeks spent gallivanting in Ireland and parts of the United Kingdom.
Republic of Ireland
It starts in Dublin via London (Gatwick). Wish we could've stayed longer. Pubs galore and live music - even in the early afternoon. The city is lovely. And the Cliffs of Moher - mesmerizing. Then a visit to the Guinness Storehouse - came out converts. Who would've thought the wife would go from lagers from Corona/Heineken/Kona Longboard to a stout by Guinness?
United Kingdom
Scotland
Glasgow is our first stop in Scotland. Highlights: the River Clyde, Kelvingrove Park, a stop at the University of Glasgow (somehow reminds the visitor of Harry Potter's school), and would you believe this - a musical (Titanic). And late night grub in the neighbourhood pub where live jazz music is played. Wasn't quite expecting that though the food was great and the musicians were pretty talented. We made the most of our few days here.
Then we took the train to Edinburgh. Apologies to Glasgow - Edinburgh is prettier indeed. Highlights? Lots but I'll name a few: Edinburgh Castle, strolling along the streets of the city, tour to Loch Ness and the Scottish Highlands - Glen Coe, Inverness. And the food - they even have fantastic Asian food.
England
Working on the list. But there's London proper, Oxford (albeit brief), Windsor Castle (missed the Royal wedding by a few weeks), Wimbledon, Westminster Abbey, The Shard, Greenwich, Stonehenge...
